The Parke Co. Sheriff's Department is investigating an incident in which a grave in a rural cemetery was partially dug up. Sheriff Mike Eslinger said persons had dug into the graves of Thomas and Sarah LOUGH in the Seybold cemetery on Co. Rd. 227. Eslinger said it appeared the grave had been dug up down to one of the coffins and filled back in. He added that the persons cut through a three-inch tree root to get at the casket. It is not known when the incident happened. It was discovered July 2. Mr. Lough was buried in 1905 and his wife in 1911.
